DIRECTOR
Kamillah akLaff is a Colombian-American artist and educator. She has a BA in Sociology from Tufts University and an MS in Education. akLaff has worked primarily as a language instructor both in New York City and in Cali, Colombia. A long time social dancer, Kamillah moved to Cali, Colombia to learn professional salsa caleña under the direction of Carlos Ceballos. Her three year tenure in Cali inspired the film, Género: Salsa. akLaff is also an alumna of the Downtown Community Television Center documentary filmmaking program, where she produced several student films. Her student film, El Largo Viaje de Regreso, was screened in festivals across the United States.
